We invite you to take a journey with us for a special edition of the annual WE GOT US NOW Podcast.

In this Mental Health Awareness Series, each week from May 10 through June 26, we are exploring 7 Unspoken Realities shaping the mental health and well-being of children and young people impacted by parental incarceration. Through story, research, reflection, and real evidence, this series creates space for honest conversation and deeper understanding about a national challenge hiding in plain sight.

A recent JAMA Network Open study found that between 2000 and 2021, “approximately 15% of children —or over 11 million—had a family member criminally charged within the past five years,” underscoring how deeply these realities reach children. They are systemic. And our children deserve systems that understand them, respond to them, and help them thrive.

Join us each week as we bring these realities into the light.
